Lawyer Paragraph

This week, we were learning how to write a Lawyer Paragraph. There were different topics for us to choose from and write about in the style of the Lawyer Paragraph. I chose sports and here is my piece.

Children should play sports. It helps them to stay fit and gets them outside more often. Kids need to stay fit, this generation of children are spending a lot of time inside in front of screens and sports make them go outside and enjoy things in real life rather than virtually. If these children spend more time outside, they will be healthier as they will get fresh air which is good for health. Going outside and playing sports is also a way to make new friends, this will benefit children because they will have more social experiences and become more social. Playing or doing sports release endorphins which are good for your body, they are pretty much feel-good hormones. Kids should play sports to enjoy their lives more.

After writing this, we read and commented on other's writing, Shakora made this comment on mine:

"@Elliot I enjoyed your piece of writing everything in your writing is accurate, kids/teenagers also adults need to see the not be on their phones constantly. I, myself get in trouble for being inside getting too much screen time so I have to get out of the house sometimes but yeah 10/10 writing keep it up."

It was really helpful to have the instructional slide set Mrs Lumley made for us, the slides each had a different part to the paragraph on them and Mrs Lumley had written her own piece to show us what we were doing.

Space Animation

In INT today, we were learning how to make an animation through Google Slides. It was a really fun activity and I can see us (the class) using it for some of our Tupaia and Captain Cook work that we are doing in INT at the moment.

Work Update Week 3

This week in 9T, we were working on Slam Dunk Paragraphs. A Slam Dunk Paragraph is structured paragraph which you can use in writing.

This is an example of what we were doing with the paragraph.

Start with a question that you intend to answer in your writing. Next is an Adverb Start, so start the next sentence with an adverb. This sentence should hint at your answer to the question you asked at the start. After the Adverb Start, you need to give Evidence to support the answer to your question. Then you tell us the impact of the Evidence. Finally, you finish with a Slam Dunk, a very short sentence of 5 words or less to sum up what you said.

This type of paragraph can be used in arguments, it will make them stronger and really bring home your argument!
